It's school term holiday again. However, nowadays we teachers do not have the luxury of enjoying it anymore. School holidays and we still need to work, if not in school then its other duties outside. As it is, i actually have to be on duty at 2 places. Luckily, a colleague was willing to take over one duty for me. I wonder what happens to the joys of teachers having lots of holidays and working shorter hours compared to others, like what many people say. These people only see us coming back home from school, but they never make it their business to note the time when we have to go to school again in the afternoons or during holidays. We used to have the luxuries of saturdays off, but not now. Other sectors have holidays on saturdays, but we teachers work on saturdays. Well, i guess thats what we do for the country and the future generation. So, to those would be teachers out there, be prepared for the worse, because teaching is a profession that you are supposed to fall in love with, not as the last resort of for the sake of having jobs.
