Frustrating

After 2 weeks, finally i am able to find time to write something. I really need to write about this. I've made my drama team feel really sad today. After a month of practice and script memorizing, I can see that my drama team is ready to compete. However, today, I have to tell them that they could not enter the competition. Pity these students who have worked hard and put all their efforts for the drama. They could not join the competition because of some technical problems which are actually caused by adults. We were confused of who is hosting the competition for our zon, and amidts the confusion, I registered my team in the wrong zon. However, when i tried to reregister them in the correct zon, the hosting school refuse to accept them, saying that my team would spoil their preparation. I don't quite understand what they meant by preparation. For all i know, the host is not suppose to prepare food for the competing teams. Their main fuction is only to prepare the venue and invite judges. Even if we join in last minute, we won't make any difference. Anyway, the competition will only be held on the 26th of march, and if they are sincere to accept us, they can just let us in, since we still have around 1 more week. I really had a tough time explaining the whole situation to my team, and it really breaks my heart to look at their sad faces. To me, as teachers we must put the students feelings and priority ahead of our own gains and comfort. Obviously, here, the students have become victims of adults and teachers' selfishness!!! I feel guilty towards my team. I fail them!!!
